my temp was 50 Deg. at the center vent with fan on high and Recirc. on. The freon tested at full range. The temp should be 40 Deg., so I went to advanced auto and put it in. Now the temp is 38 Deg. If you do this make sure you get freon with out leak seal or oil. After adding the can of freon the freon still tested in the full range.

If you really love your Vibe, consider adding refrigerant only a temporary measure. That system only has a 1.54 lb capacity, so if you in fact installed one pound (16ozs.), you had a very low charge. An evac. & recharge at a repair facility (with leak tracer or dye) would go alot further in properly maintaining your compressor (and it would only set you back about $90!
Yep I put one can useing a kit I got when I fixed my 98 villager AC. Just make sure the freon does not have any oil or Die in it. I used a preasure gage to check the fill. The system has a min and max just like all fluid systems. I would say gm put the min amount in. After adding the can of freon my system preasure is still in the save range.
