Wheel Bearings

well it was bound to happen...after 103,000kms oh her the front driver side needs a new wheel bearing....last year at this time it was the passenger side tie rod end...oh well so far it has not been to bad......but for all those out there that tink toyotas and hondas can go 300,000kms with no probs are on crack .lolanyone one else have to replace their wheel bearings or tierods?

well you dont "HAVE" to fix them hahahha jk, that happens on all cars its not like honda and yota are unbreakable, i agree. but hey thats just sorta basic maintenance parts so your doing awesome for only minor things breaking!

ya so far so good..........did all the usual stuff like plugs and (removed). belt.pvc valve..filters stuff like that...so far it really is pretty good.

Those parts dont normally go out, I am going to "assume" that at some point, a pothole did some damage. Since the damage was on the same side, that is the most likely scenario.

i had to replace a bearing in my front left assembly @ 38,000 miles, which really blew my mind cuz they should go a lot longer than that.

Mine is going at 55,000. I'm with you, I thought Toyota quality was better than this.

Well to bring up a very old thread....Well 173,000 kms or so..Had to replace it again the other day.Iam just glad I can get my parts alot cheaper then list price.

Replaced one front bearing at about 75,000 miles.Currently at almost 90,000 miles have a "pop" noise in the steering. Probably a ball joint, tie rod end, strut bushing or something. Need to locate it and fix it one of these days.Dave

Had passenger side going out at 94k and replaced both of them at that time.

It's a Sealed bearing pressed into the axle housing. Not hard if you've got a press to use.If you are clever and don't have a press you can fashion a remover / install tool out of some large pipe and fine threaded rod and a selection of big tractor sized washers.Dave
