Watson said, adding employees inside the store were not injured in the crash.Among those injured included a man in his 50s who suffered a broken leg, a 62-year-old man who had a serious laceration to his leg and a female who suffered minor injuries. The driver had a number of lacerations police say.Witnesses reported seeing an air ambulance land and take off a short distance from the crash site.The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said. www.durhamregion.com/dr....htmlQuote »Police investigating Beer Store car crashJul 21, 2006By Jennifer StoneBOWMANVILLE -- A 54-year-old Bowmanville man remains in hospital with serious injuries after being pinned against the wall when an 82-year-old Clarington woman drove through the front window of Bowmanville's Beer Store Thursday afternoon.Police say the car failed to negotiate a turn in the Beer Store parking lot, and went through the front window, pinning the man to the rear wall of the store.He was taken to Lakeridge Health Oshawa with serious injuries to his legs and pelvic area.Two other Bowmanville residents, a 62-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, were taken to Lakeridge Health Bowmanville with leg injuries, as well as cuts and lacerations. Both were treated and released.The car's driver was admitted to Lakeridge Health Bowmanville with a laceration to her head. She also sustained other injuries, but police were unable to provide further details.The woman was alone in the car at the time of the incident.Beer Store staff from the King Street and Simpson Avenue outlet were not injured in the incident, said Durham Regional Police Sergeant Paul McCurbin.Police don't believe alcohol was a factor in the collision. The vehicle's controls had been legally modified, though Sgt. McCurbin declined to provide details about the alterations. Investigators are determining if the modifications were a factor.By Friday morning, no charges had been laid and the incident remained under investigation.Anyone with information on the incident who has not yet talked to police is asked to call Constable Paul Manning at the Clarington Community Police Office at 905-579-1520, ext. 1687.
