the GT-R is basically the new Skyline and it is comming to the US in the spring of 2008!!! here is the link for some pics of the prototype version. http://www.maximum-cars.com/Ca...=pics
the back looks freakin awesome! I'm not so sure about the front, kinda looks sad not mean like a skyline should. I guess they're getting away from traditional skyline and doing something completely different.

Lol yea but you will see the front end briefly in your rearview mirror as it approaches. As for the look of the GT-R I have to agree that the front end doesnt look good, not aggressive at all and lacks the same luster the Skyline has.
I think it does look agressive, and looks better than the Skyline does now, or what you know on the streets as the Infiniti G35 Coupe, which is the Skyline oversea's.

I thought the skyline was still a r35 or something like that. Or is that the gen before the g35? Comparing g35 to this new skyline, yeah it looks better, but still overall something about the front bothers me.This is still the concept tho, right?
well the concept model and the production model of the GT-R are very similar and the R35 and the G35 are bascialy the same so the G35 is our version of tokyos Skyline. man i would kill to get ahold of the GTR-34..... woops....
OHHHh after hearing this, this car is a pile of crap to mehttp://www.autoblog.com/2008/0...track/Quote »GPS system fitted to the GT-R would remove the 111 mph (180 kph) speed limiter when the car arrives at a track, but according to Niikura, it will only work on pre-approved racetracks.Quote »After the track day, owners are required to head on over to a Nissan High Performance Center where a $1000 safety check is performed. Don't do it and the factory warranty is void.supposedly the US ones wont have the gps crap but tuning may be hardQuote »And although MINE'S has fitted a custom exhaust to their shop car, they've found that any modification to the intake system causes the ECU to go haywire.
this one was spotted on I-10 right up the street from my house. i didn't take this pic, jus wanted to share iti love the new gt-r, but i wouldn't trade my vibe for it north, just give it some time and aftermarket products for the gt-r will be flowin like they ate too much ex-lax i'm sure there are people workin on "hacking" (can't think of a better word right now. usually i'm pretty good with words, but i've had a few haha) the ECU as i type also, i can GUARANTEE they'll have more products than our vibes have lol

You can't change the wheels either. The more I hear about the car the less impressed I am.If I was at Road America and couldn't go over 111 mph on the straights I would get rid of the car.And if you have to have a safety check in the US after a track day, I can't imagine anyone wanting to buy one.For once it was the car company itself and not the press overhyping a car. What a waste.
I saw one of these last night in full leathers on the US60 near my house. Looked like the next Nissan Murano was right behind it in full leathers as well. The leathers were there, but clear as day you could tell what they were.

Nissan in japan is making it really really hard for anyone to have any fun with this new car. GPS telling them you took it to the track, voiding your warranty if you go to unauthorized tracks or not getting the $1000 inspection done after going to the track. TPMS making it impossible for aftermarket rims to be installed... tampering with it voids warranty. Buying and reselling it before a year is up, voids warranty for the new owner. Can only hope its better then that for the US market.
