6 puck? 4 puck? performance disc? what's the diff?

So at about 61k miles, my clutch is starting to go on my base 5 spd. After doing some aftermarket research, there seems to be different types of clutch discs available. What's the difference other than price? I tend to be a pretty aggressive driver - downshift a lot more than I really should, but don't really intend to do any mods that will massively increase HP. Is there any reason to go with, for example, an ACT 4-Pad Race Disc vs a ACT Performance street disc (other than the $20 price difference)? thanks!

There's no need to go with a "puck" type clutch with these cars. They're not very slippable and in some cases, are prone to breaking. Puck type clutches are meant for racing, and are simply harder to drive due to very little slippability. I know Jahntassa has one, and swears by it, but the overall concensus is to go with the "street" organic disks.Your best best is to go with a stage 2 type clutch from Gripforce (check eBay) RPS, Exedy, or ACT. Many Matrix and Celica owners (www.newcelica.org) swear by Gripforce's clutches. I'll be dropping in an RPS + MWR flywheel Monday morning; and will let you know how it compares to my fading OEM clutch. Oh, I have ~60k miles on the odo too. He quoted me $495 for the labor to install, which is about right considering the length of the jib. I might have been able to beat that by $50-$100 elsewhere, but eh, he's close and accomodating - has no problem with aftermarket stuff like some do.Oh, and Im in Oxnard for the weekend, so it's nice and cool
