Pics of rotors and EBC pads being installed

Post by Josh »

Here are a couple of pics, brakes are VERY nice, a little rumble on a hard stop, no squeaking though.I purchased the pads from a store on Ebay, about $120 for front and rear. The rotors also are from an Ebay store, about $140 shipped if I recall.Great wet weather performance too. http://www.flickr.com/photos/b...0182/

Looks nice, and I vouch for EBC Greenstuffs too - that's what i've had for the last 30k miles. Although, I am replacing them Thursday because they're almost completely worn down! Didn't last as long as I had hoped, and now I'm in a pinch.Great stopping power and great wet-weather handling, too. I'm just not so sure on their longevity. And no, I don't race or autox at all. No hard stops either.I'll be replaceing them with Akebono ceramic pads..will post a review as well. Mort reviews at http://www.tirerack.com were very positive.

I installed Akebono's on my other car (Ford Focus). I also replaced the rotors with solid Brembo's. This combo was highly rated on tirerack.com (for the price). 10000+ miles and barely any wear on either the rotors or the pads. It'll likely go on the Vibe when the time comes to replace those. Highly recommend it.

my other car is a focus too.how much (in CDN$ of course ) did that combo cost you for the focus? I'll assume it'll be close to that for the vibe...
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!

Sorry for the LATE reply The Brembo rotor/Akebono pads comb cost about C$180 from Tirerack. Once the UPS brokerage fee was added it was another C$100. Bunch of crooks. But still well worth the price. Gonna get the same combo for the rear of the Vibe; the rotors are VERY rusted.
