Rear Brake Adjustment

Post by zionzr2 »

What is the proceedure for doing a rear brake adjustment on our vibes....Wanna do it myself rather than paying someone $30 and not putting my wheels back on correctly...Plus save myself 30 bucks

The daily use of the emergency (hand) brake should keep it adjusted. The drum type can be manually adjusted, and I do not know about rear disc on this car (mine is the base model).

If they are really mushy, you could try bleeding them, otherwise there is no adjustment for pedal feel.

Bleeding them usually cures the mush, if that doesn't work you could replace the rubber brake hoses with stainless flex hose this has greatly improved some of my past vehicles. Before doing this I would check out the rest of the system.
