Greetings and salutations

Post by Skankingviber »

Just bought a 2006 abyss Vibe yesterday--manual base model w/ sun & sounds, power packageside airbags, ABSLove the interior of the vehicle. Only 2 complaints: 1) low acceleration, esp. on hills; 2) dealer said vehicle came w/ alarm---read owners manual and discovered the blinky light is not an alarm. Otherwise i love the vehcile. drives great and sound system is stellar

welcome!Quote, originally posted by Skankingviber » dealer said vehicle came w/ alarm---read owners manual and discovered the blinky light is not an alarm.hmmm, mine has an alarm, and also has that blinking light. I may be wrong because I don't know much about the 2006 Vibe, but I'm pretty sure it is and alarm. If u wanna test it, go into ur Vibe and lock the doors electronically with ur keys. Then try to unlock the door and open it. An alarm goes off in mine when I do this.Otherwise, I too am a big fan of the Vibe's sound system.

Nope no alarm. The alarm activation switch should be on the left next to the change dohicky----all i have is the chnage dohikcy and a blank face plate. No alarm sounds when car is manually opend from inside after locking. The mnual says the red flashy light is just a "theft deterrent"---meanings its just a red flashy light.

first, welcome to the sitesecond, the dealer told me mine had an alarm as well, but when it was time to sign all the papers, i found out that the alarm he told me about was a $250(or somethin close) extra that the dealer had installed, and i could get a much nicer one out of crutchfield for $100 lol. so they took it out and all i get is the cute lil flashy light too.it's such a nice shade of red though, i'm glad i have it (removed)

i had the same alarm system on my vibe GT. it's a theft deterrent system, not an actual alarm. however, if you really do want to go test it out, just lock your car via the remote and then go and try and open the drivers door! LOL

Welcome and congrats!!! We have NO power locks but do have the red flashy light. I figured it had something to do with the stereo.
