Yes, one day, maybe you can own a Subaru. Keep a positive attitude, your dreams can come true.

Nice. I still love this car and I would love to have one but the seats and my back didn't mix when I test drove it.

you sure it was just that car or did you try a few other seats and see. Honestly I find the seats a little wide and flat, but not to hard either. Of course compared to my Vibe seats, I sink into those.

I test drove one legacy, and sat in another legacy and a forester and they all felt the same. Its not that the seats are bad, its that my back is very sensative after my accident and the slightest thing can cause discomfort. What kind of aftermarket seat support do subies have? Like me and my dad have been discussing even though my heart is set on the Z and I'll be getting it, but not only did I lose my vibe, I lost the project vehicle my father and I started (the SS Silverado) since it was sold, dude then decided he didn't want it and it was returned to stock for me to turn into a daily driver instead of racking miles up on his vette and totally killing its resale. He's normaly a 100% domestic guy but when he saw this car he loved it as well and I think when (and if) I get back on my feet this could be a nice little project vehicle, and sadly of all the things I have to look for in a car now seats have to be on top of my list.

Well you could always get the seats redone as far as material used to make it softer. But you would want to make sure it was not effecting side airbags from the seats. But that might be something you may need to look into.

well, there are TONS of a/m parts available. most things that fit on the STI/WRX will fit (or have a version) the LGT. you'd be in a special situation though and i'd be looking at a customer seat anyways, just because of all your back issues.

Yea, custom seats would probably be wise (for both of us) because of my back...and thats the hardest thing having to face after my accident now. Just turned 21 and because of my back I have to look at everything differently and it totally blows. Fun part now is trying to figure out how/what to look at for a new job since I was fired from my job I'v had for 3 years because of my back last month and I'm stuck on a 20lb restriction. Back to school I go I hope...hopefully a degree working on cars.

Yea I'm sure I will, thats why I'v been brainstorming of a field I can get into where I won't have to. I was going to finish my paint and body degree but hoods/trunks/bumpers aren't exactly light.

found the article i was looking for: subiesport mag:Quote »2007 Subaru spec.B with SI-Drive PreviewFriday, April 14, 2006By: Ryan Douthit - Photos: SubaruAs the 2006 New York Auto Show announcements continue to flow at a brisk pace, one of the more interesting model year revisions is from Subaru. The Legacy spec.B, which is no longer a limited edition, returns as a regular production model for '07 and gets some new technology, to boot.In addition to the new Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE), which allows the driver to maximize engine performance based on applicaton, the spec.B also gains a modified version of the 6-speed manual transmission from the WRX STI, plus the advanced Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system and tire pressure monitoring. Also, great news for performance fans, as the 2007 spec.B now will come with a Torsen limited-slip rear differential to help put power to the pavement.Similar to the 2006 model, the 2007 spec.B features Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a 2.5-liter intercooled turbo Boxer engine that churns out 243 peak horsepower and 241 lb.-ft of peak torque. Now, a bit about that SI-DRIVE mentioned above. This new dial-controlled system allows the driver to maximize engine performance, control and efficiency by giving the driver the option to select among three different modes: “Intelligent,” “Sport,” and “Sport Sharp.” Any one of which can be selected by twisting the rotary dial on the center console. Based on this input, the SI-DRIVE will control the electronic throttle response and ignition curves to modify engine torque characteristics. How that plays out in real life is very simple to understand. Find yourself on a mountain road and you want to have some fun? Dial in “Sport Sharp” for – as Subaru describes it – “lightening quick throttle response, and more power sooner.” Just tooling around on the way to the office? Dial in “Intelligent” and see your fuel consumption decrease by up to 10 percent. “Sport” puts the car into the normal driving mode from the year before. Really, it’s so simple, it’s amazing no one else thought of doing this first. To keep the driver informed, the SI-DRIVE system includes instrument panel displays so it's easy to keep tabs on system performance. This multi-info display is located in the tachometer face, and also provides basic trip computer functions as well as showing fancy torque curves. Back to the Legacy spec.B itself. Design improvements also can be found in the cabin. Finally a decent stereo with input jacks for iPods and other portable sound devices. XM Satellite Radio capability is also now to be found standard on all Legacy and Outback models. 2007 models will sport Charcoal Gray leather-trimmed upholstery with Dusk Blue Alcantara inserts: For those not excited by the previous model’s orange interior, that should be good news.Returning for the 2007 model is the Bilstein Sport Suspension package. This is a similar setup to the rally-bred Impreza WRX STI, with inverted front struts. It also has aluminum-allow lower control arms, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and high-performance tires as standard equipment. The rear multi-link suspension now features aluminum-allow rear arms and upper links in place of cast-iron pieces to reduce unspring weight and give even more grip-and-go fun.Pricing and availability were not announced, but we’re guessing this new Legacy spec.B will probably hit around the same price as its predecessor (~$32,000) and will most likely go on sale September 2006. Sure, it has more stuff, but it’s no longer a special edition, so that should help keep the pricing down.

I don't understand why you keep pursuing higher performance vehicles. If the seats don't kill you, which you already say you have a problem with, the harsh ride associated with anything sporty will. Can your back take a long trip of being beaten for hours on end? What if you end up furthering your injuries thanks to the harsh characteristics of the car you have selected? Doesn't sound like it is worth it to me just to have something fast and handles like it is on rails, IMHO.If I were in a situation such as yours, high performance, lowered, whatever would be the last thing I would be looking for. I'd head straight for something soft like a larger, more luxurious vehicle with soft seats and a gentle ride. If I weren't at the Hyundai dealer buying an Azera, I'd be going over to check out a Buick or hell, even an Avalon.

I think its because I'm hard headed, and pretty much same boat as what I said above its kinda hard to realize what I can and can't do (or have now). Here lately alot have people have told me I should look into luxury, but in all honesty I have no clue where/what to look at in luxury/quality vehicles since all the vehicles in my family have always been performance cars. Alot of people have been telling me to get a Chrystler 300c and fix it up since this car is the best of both worlds and since what ever I do end up with has to be able to be able to be turned into show quality.

well when your hired to fullfill a certain job and you can no longer physicly perform that job then its only fair to the employer to let you go and hire someone else. We lost a lube/tire guy because he had back problems and could no longer do tires. Hope you find something to do, a soft chair desk job or something. The spec B is looking really good and I wonder how many we'll get up here. We only got 2 of the first year Spec b.

SOA shot themselves in the foot by doing that. the 07 will be a package in the regular line up, much wiser as it gives more options for would be consumers. and tangerine, the good thing about subie's, is that they are the SAFEST car on the roads![/QUOTE]

Mebbe its time I grow up and start making wise decisions

from what i read on the boards, the LGT uses the same transmission as the G35. i don't know how true this is, but was reading about it the other day. lol. G35 is a good choice.
