Amp with no wiring harness

Post by shane_c »

I have an amp but I don't have the hi-level input harness to connect it to the speakers. I'm using the factory deck so I'll have to connect it this way. Can I just solder wires to the amp where the harness would connect to or can you buy replacement harnesses at electronic stores?

It depends on the amplifier. I wouldn't reccomend soldiering the wires into those small connectors as you'll probably end up unseating the connections on the inside and breaking it.Try asking around at local car shops, they might have some floating around that they didn't use.Or you'd be better off getting a line-level converter for $20 or so and wiring that in, then using RCA cables.
