Good news: Picked up my Vibe on Thursday.Bad news: Finally drove it during the daytime yesterday, and got an unusually bad headache. I soon noticed that the windshield has a fairly serious flaw right in the driver's forward line of vision, resulting in a wavey distortion of the view. It's totally unacceptable for ANY car, much less a modern 2003 model. Anyone else have this problem? Is this something covered under warranty? I'm going to call the dealership tomorrow, but it would be nice to have some "ammunition" to use in case they stonewall on this. It's so bad that if the dealership won't fix it, I'm going to have to smash the windshield and have my insurance company replace it. Too bad because I totally dig everything else about this car....but such an obvious and serious flaw calls into question the quality control with regards to the entire car. If a bad windshield can roll off the assembly line, what other botched parts might be lurking inside my new Vibe?
It doesn't sound normal. Mine doesn't have that problem, so it's probably a defect. The dealer should be able to take care of that. I know that in Florida your windshield is covered with no deductable. You shouldn't have any problems with them though as they want to keep you the customer happy and to keep their customer satisfaction percentage high. Post back if you have any problems.
