My dealer is Tom Kelley GMC Pontiac Buick in Atlanta and they are great...oil changes via email coupons for $9.95!!!...they have always gone beyond the call of duty to make me happy and to fix things or find the unobtainable updates to the NAV system...hey this is a $20k car and would expect the same or better from my BMW dealership for my 325 convertible but I'm just a number over there and made to feel like crap when I ask for anything. So don't feel too bad Pontiac owners.

They sound like a great bunch, I'm glad you've got somewhere like that you can depend on. A good dealer or two can be found out there, that's for sure. It's just a shame that those types are in the minority.

Welcome, and glad you got such good service. Maybe we need a global GREAT DEALERS thread? I SEARCH'ed and found a similar thread only in the Michigan forum.A lot of comments posted on GenVibe are about bad experiences with dealerships and service departments. I guess it's that old research finding that a satisfied customer tells only a couple of people, and a dis-satisfied customer tells EVERYONE who will listen.
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
A good dealer will make or break the customer relationship. They should be there so you will have 1. return service 2. be a happy cusotmer and spread word of mouth 3. buy from them again. If they do not then they will lose business which i think happens to often... glad you had a awesome experience!! Im glad theres still good places left
even though phil works at the dealership, i've gotten top notch service from day 1. before he even worked there. now, it's just a bonus getting parts at cost! woot!but even still, my family bought 8 vehicles from AK Sales & Service. with the exception of one time, we had great service there too. that one time, they made up for it and made good, so i returned to them and purchased my vibe, as well as my parents buying an additional 2-3 cars over the course of several years. good service and support will lead to happy customers, who then lead to referrals, and return happy customers.
not say that any of you live in sparsely populated regions (atlanta is pretty big! )but i find that when the demand exceeds the supply, quality of service does drop.the other end of the spectrum occurs when there's only one dealer in town then they can do what they want!there is a happy medium and i'm glad some have been able to find it.
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
there is only one subie dealer in Anchorage. so far, i've been very impressed. i've had some unpleasant dealings w/ other dealerships up here in the past, but they are also no longer in business and have been bought up over the years... must have been their poor service.
