Matrix -> Vibe front end swap? Do-able??

Post by ozone »

I'm not sure of fitmet, being as the front side fenders and the front end entirely dont even get closer to matching up with the Matrix...but I was curious if you were able to swap the front fenders, front end, hood, headlights, etc into a Matrix? I'd imagine they didnt change the engine bay frame...has anyone debunked this theory?

I suppose it's a possibility, very good possibility. Have to change headlights too.

its very possible but the question is how would the fenders match up with the rest of the cars.

not to mention, it would kind of look like (removed). the matrix nose doesn't really match the vibes appearance imo.

There would be some issues with the cladding too, I'd imagine. It wouldn't look right with the cladding on, and if you took it off, it would look even worse I'd imagine. It may require some creativity to fill in the gaps after taking the cladding off...

The cladding would be the hardest part to do. You would have to fab some sort of bumper extention. I love the wide/flared fender style of the vibe. I think if done correctly this project would look pretty cool

you would have to change the front radiator collar (the metal frame the radiator is mounted to) and the front wire harness also. It would be alot harder than it looks. but if you had a front end from a rear smashed matrix it could be done.
