That looks good. What brand/color paint did you use.

painted grille looks real nice. I have the abyss so it matches already, if i had another color I would definitely use your idea, i would lose the gt though, no need to over advertise, keep a low key and really blow the doors off the civic ricers out there without them knowing what hit them....

I work at a local Ford Dealership, I removed the grilles and one of the body shop painters painted them for a case of beer. He used Dupont paint with a flex agent added, then baked them in the oven. The Pontiac silver is the same as a Ford silver on the market. Removal of the grille couldn't have been more simple, some push pin type screws and then are just clipped in. As for the GT emble, the font almost matches the Vibe GT font perfectly on the doors, it's hard to tell in the picture, but I also added GT emblems to the d-pilar behind the rear doors, I think the red emblems accent the silver paint really nice, but it is my car.
That really does look good. The silver paint brings out the grill's hex pattern, something that gets lost with the stock black grill. The up front GT emblem works well. Hey, if you want stealth against Hondas, why worry about the front grill? Hopefully, you're gonna be showing them your tailgate. How about the side view mirrors next?
I don't know robdog - out of the 3 Abyss Vibes I've seen here in Michigan, 2 of them have silver grilles (3 if you count mine). One of them has been painted since last May. I was waiting to post these pics to see how the paint did during the winter (cold and salt) and also till I got better digital photos and had time to clean off my car. Here's the pics I have so far - they really do not do the car justice, the grilles look like the "mesh/chickenwire" that everyone gets. I happen to like how it looks on Abyss. The great part is that you can get the can of chrome paint for $5 and it takes less than two hours to do it...
