First oil change

Post by goat455 »

I'm about to do my first oil change on the vibe..have had it about a month now with about 1000 miles on it. The question is, in order to maintain my extended warranty, must I take the car to the dealer for an oil change? I plan to do all my oil changes, but I've heard in order to maintain the warranty the dealer or licensed shop had to perform the work. Anyone have any advise on this?

You can do it yourself. Just keep a detailed record with all receipts and you will have no problems at all.

Keep a very detailed record... if possible even fill out a book perhaps with a copy of the recept and the mileage... when you purchaced the oil and when you changed it. If there are any issues then those will be called into question. Even for GM warranty.
