Well, after 92k miles I decided that it was time to have new brakes on the front. I got new pads and rotors. They turned the rear drums and cleaned. Has anybody else gone this long on brakes?
yours must have been made of plutonium or something...i have never heard of brakes lasting that long before. did you hear any screeching noises when you applied your brakes? did it cut into your rotors? whatever the reason, be glad it lasted that long for ya.

The rotors had worn, and I did not want to do rotors a year from now, so I told them I wanted new. I went with the OEM replacement pads, and non-OEM rotors. Hopefully, I can get the same mileage. Now, I will need to find the time and flush the anti-freeze.
hey michaelgt...i see that you had someone else do your brakes...if ya want to save some money on the antifreeze flush, you should check out the question about finding the radiator drain plug.it is pretty simple to do and you only need to refill with one bottle of coolant (buy premixed it's easier). drain the old, tighten the plug, add water, run the engine until its warmed up about 10-15 minutes (or check temp gauge) to dilute the old coolant. keep doing this until you see clear water coming out of the drain. use your oil pan to collect this stuff.hope i will save you some money? also, this place is great, i luv all the helpful people here.
Thanks for the information. I am planning on doing that myself. I had the brakes done at a dealership that my brother works at. I did pay for labor, and received a family discount on parts. I have too many things going on to have time for brakes (4 daughters, MBA, 4H, Band boosters, T-ball coach, etc.). I will make time for the antifreeze.
My '04 had 88,000 miles on it when it was wriiten off and there was still lots of brake pad left, the rotors looked great. This was mostly highway miles though.
hmmm...maybe its just me...i can't seem to go more than 35k on any car. however, i only had this vibe since 22k and at 25k right now. maybe it's also because i'm stuck in stop and go traffice all the time, even on freeways.
