Fuel Fiter change?

Post by burrpenick »

I hate this owners manual. A simple list like most manufacturers would have been nice. Anyway, I see on the net it must be 100k, but most mechanics recommend 24k (and parts houses too I am sure!!).What is the consensus of the group? I am at 60k and have had no problems. If so, is it a difficult job? SPecial tools? I understand its in the tank, so any and ALL TIPS and SUGGESTIONS would be most appreciated.George in Tallahasseeplease respond to penick@nettally.com

The filter is in the fuel tank itself so it generally isn't considered a routine maintenance item... If you're having problems that could be attributed to a clogged filter, then you can most certainly replace it - but other than that, they don't require you to change it.You'll have to remove the back seat to gain access to the opening for the fuel tank to pull out the pump assembly, I believe, if you want to replace it.
