LHS

Post by heha »

I got myself a 99 Chrysler LHS and this thing is huge I tell ya. She looks sweet and smooth ridin'. My wife calls it an old man car, a boat, and other such things I will not repeat, but its got leather!!! and Its also my very first ever car, with my name on the sale slip and on the insurance. it feels good. I do LOVE driving the vibe, I still want to mod it out, and is at time more fun to drive in the city then my car.

It's a great feeling when you get one that's all yours. Congrats!!One note of caution- a co-worker of mine has an LHS 2000 I think with about 70k miles and he has engine trouble. I checked his oil and it looked like it had water in it (not good). He said there is a class action lawsuit against Chrysler. Hope yours is a good one.

Congrats! The engine issues are with the 2.7L V6 only. And it MAINLY but not always stems from people not keeping up on the oil changes every 3,000 miles... Regardless of the owners manual stating. What engine do you have with your LHS?The issues is the oil gets heated so much it turns to sludge and mostly from one oil passage in the rear most portion of the engine, I believe closest to the header and firewall and does not get enough air circulation thus it clogs. If you keep your oil changes up up will probably not have an issue. You can even run Synthetic oil because it can take hotter temps but still keep up on the changes, I would not go past 5,000 a change. The same 2.7L is in the 300C and Dodge Magnum, however it is mounted vertically and does not have this issue. The other issue was people not letting the cars oil get up to temperature. VW has had the sludge issue too as well as Toyota.I doubt anyone will get far in the class action suite... I am not stating I support the issue and it should not be happening but I also have know several people some with company cars that have not had engine issues. All have kept up on their oil changes.
