Free money from Kia

Post by ColonelPanic »

The mailman brought me something from Kia yesterday: Go test drive a new Sedona minivan and get twenty five bucks. It looks like you end up with a certificate redeemable for gift cards from Best Buy, Target, Home Depot. There's not really a catch to it, just the one test drive per household deal, other than that, the fine print is minimal.I think I'll do it. I get to go drive a pimpin' new minivan and just think about all of the duct tape I can buy on Kia's dime to fix my Vibe with - I'd be crazy to pass on this offer! I win all the way around. UNLESS I find myself falling in love with this family truckster, 'cause this is one Kia I can't afford! That would be tragic, wouldn't it? *cry!* I don't know what sort of trouble I'm setting myself up for though. I've found the local Kia representatives to give me the willies, just a wee lil' bit, so if I'm going to do this, I should go very far away! The experience has been surreal: Picture walking onto a lot, surrounded by new cars but you somehow you feel like you've just stepped onto a buy-here-pay-here lot. You stop to think about it, then it dawns on you: You're not at the sleaziest buy-here-pay-here lot you can think of. You can't be. If you were, you'd probably find more people there with a greater amount of respect for ethical business paractices than you're seeing right now! (removed)

Be careful bro. I test drove the Kia Sportage 3 years ago to get the Lord Of The Rings DVD for free. Those people at the Kia dealerships are souless vessels of pure evil! They will kick and scream to sell you the vehicle, and if you pass they will give you a hard time to get the freebie. Those Kia salesmen are scary. Also...if a salesman EVER says he needs to talk to his manager for a better deal, leave. He is playing games with your head. Kia salesman must be taught this little trick their first day.
Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others have labored hard for.

Pure evil sounds about right. I think I'll pass on the 25 bucks, sounds like they're all probably just as bad everywhere else as they are here. I ran across a thread on Edmunds where a guy went there and bought a car at one of the dealers here, they ended up making a never ending series of "mistakes" on the paperwork, screwing the customer over, made him pay $1200 for a crappy e-bay security system that they attach to every car that comes in despite the car already having a factory security system - not negotiable of course. And the customer's wife ends up getting stalked by the salesman, he kept showing up at her place of employment to "discuss matters of the purchase," in other words the poor gal was being stalked by the salesman. Not sure why he couldn't go talk to her husband about the issues, hmm... The Kia salesman got suspended from work for a couple of days, no other punishment - yeah, they truly value doing an honest business there at the Kia dealer!
