With all the opinion and controversy surrounding the new 2004 GTO coming out soon, I guess a poll is in order to see where our members' opinions lie. What are your feelings regarding the EXTERIOR STYLING of the soon to be released GTO?
Former owner of a 2003 Vibe GT---Great car that gave me 8 years and 83,000 miles of trouble-free service.Current owner of a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited AWD.
Actually, I think the front end reminds me too much of a Grand Prix, but it looks good. I understand this poll is for EXTERIOR styling, but the styling isn't what I'd buy one for. Rear drive, 6-speed manual, Vette motor and a decent back seat....... I've loved the Holdens for quite a while and always wondered why GM didn't bring them over here.
I like the european styling of the car(based on the Opel Omega) and the engine is pretty awesome. I wish there were more european styled GM cars on the road (at least FORD has a few )

That car looks like a cross between the Lotus Elan and the Toyota MR2. It's a good looking car but I like the roominess of the Vibe Now that I have a Vibe, it would be hard to back to a two seater unless it was a second car just to tool around in
Abyss Monotone GT, 6 speed, Moon & Tunes, Power Group, and 16" Alloys. Soon you can see my Vibe GT at Shadowrealm's car pics but for now it is under construction!
The GTO is the Australian car called the HOLDEN Manero. They have changed some things on the car, but it's pretty much the same. We just had the rep from GM come in to go over the GTO launch and he brought the brochure for the Manero for us to look at. i like the fact that it seats 4 people and is rear wheel drive. i also like that the 6 speed tranny is the Z06 corvette tranny. Overall though, i think it's looks too much like the Grand Prix in the front andfrom the rear it looks like the Volvo C-70. i give it 3 out of 5 stars

I like the way the new GTO looks. Although based on the Australian Holden Manero, GM made some changes to it to resemble the other Pontiac's. I also like the rear wheel drive aspect of it.

Typical modern GM…has to go look across a pond to find an idea. Why is GM so screwed that they cannot come up with original concepts and develop them into the show room? We Vibe owners (past and present) are really driving a Toyota, way to go Bob….how original. The Holden…now that is cool. I wish I could buy this four-door kick (removed) sedan here. You guys should watch Auzi V-8 Super Cars on Speed, They can turn right as well.
AMEN TO THE F BODIES. The Solstice was a s@#t hot. I am partial to the 2 door coupes though. Look for the new Chevy SS, 6 liter V8 4 doors rear drive and balls out performance.

I saw the GTO preview special feature on the XXX DVD (which, btw, I got free at my local Pontiac dealership ), and I was surprised that it was not retro. I do like the look, but was expecting a more retro vibe (no pun intended).
I agree, I would love one for the performance but a little less grand Prix to the front end would be nice. Even though I love the Grand Prix 2 door looks, this shold have varied more.
Shadow two tone, 5 speed, 16" alloys, power group, ABS safety group, 6CD, 200watt. Love the car.

Nitpick ---> It is the Holden Monaro.Speaking of Holden, go to http://www.holden.com.au and take a look at the new car/truck/thang called the "One Tonner." Never in my life did I think I'd see a production flatbed with a car front.....- ESJ

Don't forget, GM OWNS Holden, so in a way, it is their idea...Besides: I'd rather they go "down under" to get a new concept than take a domestic model or Japanese model and mod them. That's done on a regular basis. Australian mods, though, are few and far between. And if you go to Pontiac.com and take the GTO tour, the driver gauges and wheel-mounted display are schweet!!!
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

Although it does look a little Grand Prix-ish, it's definitely Pontiac. They could have done a LOT worse. BTW, I wonder what the display is for? I know the die-hard Pontiac fans are a little angry towards the resurrection of the nameplate. At least GM didn't slap the GTO name on a front-driver this time. Doesn't resemble much of the original, though. Where's the ram air, hidden headlights, and hood tach like my uncle has on his '69 Carousel Red Judge?

The reaction from auto show fans was very promising. I think it'll be a hit!

AFAIK, it is not officially out yet, though there have been sightings of GTOs on car carriers. My dealer said it should be on his lot in early to mid december.

At a base price of $34,500(US), I cannot afford it, but I can still dream. If I'm going to dream, I might as well dream about this $50,000 Cadillac CTS-V coming out soon. Rear wheel drive, 6-speed manual, LS-6 (400hp, 395tq), 14" Brembo brakes, 13.1 sec 1/4 mile.http://www.cadillac.com/cadill...=ctsv
