More Platform sharing. The Nitro borrows parts from the Jeep Liberty. I've heard Jeep uses parts from the Neon replacement (Caliber) for the new Jeep Compass.

However it looks, though, it will undoubtedly sell well as one of the "smarter SUV's" that people want now, now that their Hummers and whatnot are actually making them feel guilty about driving such huge tanks.
