Had the Vibe in for an oil change and there was a black Solstice in the showroom.I didn't have my camera, so no pics, sorry, and it was too slushy for a test ride. 1. This thing is BEAUTIFUL. Absolutely stunning.2. Pop the hood, (if you can find the lever, I had to search the owner's manual) it's a clamshell (tres cool), and the engine compartment is typical, everything is covered by a large plastic shield.3. The interior is nice, fairly cosy, and not too terribly cluttered.4. The rear 3/4 view is beautiful.5. The cupholders are back between the seats, behind your elbows. I don't think they will hold a large Slurpee cup very well.6. There is no console cubby by the shifter, it is back between the seats, above the cupholders, and might fit 6 or 7 CD cases. 7. The profile makes it look perfect.7. There is NO trunk with the top down, an area about 6" wide and 10" deep is available. There is about enough room for two pairs of shoes and a t-shirt. But then again, its NOT supposed to be a family hauler is it?8. It's freaking gorgeous.9. Did I mention that this thing is beautiful?

they had one at the dealership when my parents bought their vibe at christmas. i agree with your comments... if i didnt already have a convertible, i woudl consider it. it surprised me how low you sit in it. the interior is nice for a $24k car.
I sat in one at Donnelly's, a black one. They also had a red and a silver, all sold. The salesman said don't even think about getting one unless you want to wait 4 to 6 months. I much prefer the sculptured look of the Saturn Sky or Opel GT but the Soltice is beautiful.
i saw one here and got a pic on my phone but cant tell it is one but i did get a few pics from our annual auto show.(Interior of the Saturn Sky real similar to the Solstice)
Yeah they are a cool looking little (removed). Its a shame GM gets something that sells well and can't get them to the dealers. Most of our customers have been waiting up to 11 months so none of them are allowed to be test driven by anyone but the buyer. We have delivered prolly around eight. If you find a dealer that has some available stock give it a whirl I'm no convertible fan but they are fun to drive. A bit underpowered for my liking and a lot of driveline slop would be my only complaints.
A running apology for misspells and general butchering of the Kings English

As an owner of too many shares of Ford it irked me that instead of building a $20,000 reincarnation of the original Thunderbird two seater that I am sure would have been a major hit they built a $40,000 replica of the later 4 seat version that was just a flash in the pan. Went to the auto show last evening. Had not been to an auto show the past couple of years. Agree that the Soltice is a winner. Perhaps I am atypical, but for larger cars that do not even offer manual transmisison I think the gear shifter belongs on the steering wheel. Even the Cadillac replacement for the Deville has a center consolw between the driver and passenger seat that reminds me of Hoover dam it is so massive. The Vibe/Matrix is getting a lot of competition. The Mazda 5 appeals to me. The new Honda Fit is also attractive. The Dodge Caliber ! Chevy HRR. All seem good values. If I were a 4-dr Sedan type, that new Hyundai Azera (sp) looks like a winner. They must be in short supply as all I see advetised are the left over XG350's.
