I would like to see if we can get a weekly chat going. Vote to see which evening works best for you. Say like after 6:00pm Central time then people can come and go as they please but we'll at least have an evening set up so others will be in there. Place your vote then we'll pick at least one or maybe more evenings that work best for everyone.I'll leave the voting open 'til March 10th then the next week will be the start of the official Genvibe chats. Thank you.

I'll pile on and say that I will try to participate if there is a day/time chosen, whenever. Seems like user's # online is higher earlier in the week than later, weekends tend to be pretty sparse, if active users count is any indication of who might participate in chat. There are genvibers from eastern Europe west all the way to Singapore, but most are within the 4 core north american time zones. It's also good to try to muster a chat for special events, I remember some great chats we had providing running commentary and sharp wit during the last series of US presidential debates.
with my hectic school schedule weekdays are sorta random. with this new girl im suppose to be seeing saturday...it will depend on weekends see what happens, im with the majority, evenings are best and ill be around usually to chat!
OK, well it looks like the majority of the people so far can do it on any weekday evening. So far Friday evenings are in the lead. Hopefully we can get more votes for specific evenings.

I like Friday PM as well, but any weekday is okay except Thursdays.BTW, I'm over in the chat room as I type:http://www.genvibe.com/html/mi...shtmlWe should add a link to the genvibe.com menu..and some type of indicator when the room is occupied. I'll check with Nick on that.
That's a SWELL idea Zuben--being blonde, I didn't even THINK to look in the chat room the day everything was down. That would have been a great idea to have a little flag or something--I definitely would have joined in.
the day the site was down, i tried to get to the forums and was greeted with a message that read something like "the forum is down, join us at the chat room" and there was a link to the chat room.....didn't any of you see that?
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
You know, people can log on to chat any evening. It's just that if you log in, and nobody else is there and then you log off right away, you're not giving much of a window of time for someone to find you there. If everybody does that, then it's near impossible to find anyone in chat. If you want to catch people in chat, then log in to chat and then stay logged in. If you use the /visual command then it will pop up a new window for a copy of what is typed, that i ueful if you are on the PC doing other stuff and need to minimize the chat window, the new window will pop up on top and let you see there is hat activity. Similarly, you can use the /beepall command to beep every time someone sends a line, that can also help get your attention if you are just loitering in chat waiting for someone else. both /visual and /beepall are toggle commands, so use it to turn it on, use it again to turn it off.The chat tool has a command that can be used to indicate how many people are currently logged on to the chat room, but the chat tool is currently the free version. There is an annual fee for the full version, but since nobody ever users the chat, it hasn't been an issue. The free version comes with a limited usage # chatting tool, and I didn't know it was a limited usage thing, so I put it in my signature and burned up the free usage in about four hours. but it did work. The annual cost for that chat tool was pretty token, I'm sure a collection would pay for the full version, but it might be best to just see if people really care enough about it to make it worthwhile.Rasermon was the chat master, and evaluated a number of alternative chat softwares.

I believe it was down cold (no message displayed at all) for quite a few hours. Those in the Chat before the server came up may have decided to pop in there as a last resort.
