Post by Mrizzle05 »

Im sooo pissed off at cosmoracing (can i say pissed off?)They sent me another email saying its gonna be a couple of weeks now that they will have more CAI's for the 05 vibes... which gets me, cuz they sent one not too long ago saying that they would have some in by this coming week.I just want my cold air intake!!!!Does anyone have one they dont want or wanna get rid of one for the 05... or know if any other place makes them for us 05'ers

Cosmo is the only one, that's why they are out of stock. I can't believe nobody else is making one, it's such a simple change in design.

Not only am I not able to get a CAI for my car (at least one that fits), but I am also one of the LUCKY genvibe members that is having to deal with the "my vibe won't start!" issue... that's why it is broken.Injen does not make a CAI for the DBW Vibes checked into that when I first got mine.

yea, the throttle body is smaller. Interestingly enough, my Cosmo CAI had directions for 03-04 and 05. The big difference was there is a nipple (heheheheh I said nipple) on the underside that is used on the 04 (and older) but not on 05. Some line from the VSV is supposed to go there if used on 04 and older. For the 05 the directions say to leave it blocked it off (comes with a yellow cap). The only other attachements are for the pressure (PCV?) line from the valvecover, and the MAF sensor.

I am one of the first to install the cosmo for the 05 and it is a great intake. They sell out fast because whomever makes them for cosmo probably cant keep up with the fow of traffic. The difference in design is the extra hole for the extra hose under the engne cover. It is simple to drill the hole in a older one and use that just add a nipple with some JB Weld and your good to go. I helpwd a friend do this and his is still workig great. just a thought if you didnt want to wait for the one already designed for DBW
