Windshield Washer blocked NOT Frozen

Post by hwm187 »

hi guys, about a month after i bought my vibe, 2 of the three windshield washer holes got clogged and no water comes out. I read past posts and it only talks about when thwey are frozen. I live in Los Angeles. They aren't frozen. Any idea of a good ay to unclog it besides just poking at it. i worried i will damage it by doing that. Thanks!

I have always used a straight pin to clean out wax and to aim them. Are yours clogged with wax or from something in the washer solution?

Hiya...My passenger side middle nozzle hole seemed to have been plugged (maybe wax?). I haven't done anything to unclog it but it is now working. Well, sorta.. about 50% of the other 2 holes.Other than cleaning the openings with a needle/pin or thin wire or some small poking thing, I dunno what else you could do other than wait to see if it cleans itself out on it's own.I doubt you can cause too much damage using a pin ot thin nail. But you might try something like a toothbrush, if it's just a surface clog. Either by pressing the brushes onto the holes or maybe brushing back and forth, might clear em up for ya.Dave

Try removing the hose from the back of the spray jet, and blow some compressed air into the hose, forcing anything that's clogging it back into the tank; that should unclog it all the way back to the tank. Sometimes when they drill in to the tank to put them together they leave little pieces of plastic in the tank, which get in to the hose. Give that a shot!
