Window Visor Question for 06

Post by gnnr »

Question. I thought I saw it mentioned in one thread how there is an extendable visor found on the older Vibes and that someone transplanted a set onto the newer 05/06 model series. Is this true? What GM part number or where else can I get this?

since non of the expert GM parts guys replied, i guess i'll throw in my advice.the 04 for sure has the expanding sun visor. not a clue as to a part number. if you know of a local junk yard. i'd say go there. if not, try http://car-parts.com. search for something misc like front seats for 2004. if they have the seats, they should have more of the interior parts. also try looking under toyota matrix, same year.

My 05 has the extending visor. You might have it and not realize it- it doesn't look like it does anything special. (I didn't realize I had one for a good 11 months until I saw a forum post about it.)Try swinging the visor out to cover the top of the side window, then pull back towards the back of the car- the whole visor should slide out on the post near where it connects to the roof of the car. Mine was pretty stiff, so you might have to tug a bit. (but not so hard as to pull the visor off if it doesn't extend!)If they dropped it for the 2006, then that sucks, just like the console lid on the '04 and earlier models that got dropped for '05. I'm still looking for one of those.
