Superchaged and CAI

Post by Sub-Vibe-R »

I'm planning to get the supercharged when available but I want to add a CAI to increase my HP until the supercharged come out. Can I put the CAI with the supercharged or it is only one or the other? If I can't put a CAI with the supercharged, I won't waist my money on a CAI.

You can have a CAI with any set up. If you want a CAI now then buy it and then cut it to fit the SC later on. The info I have seen says the SC will run through the stock air box so you might not even have to cut anything.

Good news! I can get the CAI now and buy the supercharger when available and put both togetter.Base Vibe with SC and CAI would have about 190HP... Sounds great

Hey, I finally got to see an eaton roots style sc up close, but it was a bigger one, an m90 i think. If you get the chance to see yours before it is installed, look at it from the bottom and turn the pulley, then you will see what is going on with the lobes turning, it is awsome! It makes me almost want the sc instead of a turbo.! CAI sounds like a good idea to keep intake temps as low as possible, have you thought about water injection at all to make intake temps even lower?Good vibrations Faultline

I think the easiest way to have better air intake with the SC, is to get the Ram-Air hood. The scoops go straight to the airbox, so when you get the SC, it should bolt right in without changing connections. The CAI will have to be custom as far as current intakes.Heres the thread to the Hood http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... 2005#12005
