Production "Sport Package" & "Spoiler Package"

Post by MA-VIBE-FAN »

Here is the first half of the puzzle.Pontiac has announced to dealers the ordering info for packages that are ordered at the same time the new car is. Same way the gear box/bumper protector/etc are ordered, shipped to arrive at the same time the car comes in and dealer installed.Sport Package includes front and rear fascia extensions, side rocker extensions and two rear spoilers. Order in Satellite, Abysss or Salsa. Must order car in Monotone paint. MSRP $1,890 includes dealer installation. Would come right on window sticker.Spoiler Package includes the midgate and roof spoilers. Same three colors. MSRP $735 includes install.I had a message on machine when back from lunch. Dealers are just getting this info in sales. Now we can deal with figures. It another post, I saw the Chrome tip for the Exhaust was around $66 dollars. It is $65 if ordered with the car. So this figure could represent a very real dealer cost for the packages to be added to already sold cars.

Wow!!! So, if you bough the sport package, the spoiler package and the crome exhaust tip, it will cost $2690.So, if I convert it in canadian $, it means more the $4000, plus takes. A bit expensive for me.

I told you peeps that they were going to be a rip off...Is that the same price if you already have the car? That is ridiculous!I spoke to them yesterday, and they didn't have a price.

I don't think $1,890 for the whole kit (painted and installed) is all that high. If it's too high for you then don't buy it or find cheaper ones. How is that Acura kit any better? At $1299 unpainted and uninstalled you would probably be over $2000 when you add in the painting and installation costs.

It looks like Pontiac is taking factory orders for the packages. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait a while to get your car. According to http://www.donlen.com/Whats_New/new_pro ... rs_gm.html in the 2/3/03 update, The following options are on indefinite restriction: Spoiler Package (PDE) Sport Package (PDG) "indefinite restriction" is the term they used on the ABS option on base Vibes while my order was languishing in the in basket. Fortunately, that option came off restriction within three or four weeks and my car was produced the next month. So, if you're waiting for a Vibe with either of those packages, keep an eye on the donlen.com web page and try to keep your optimism.

On the GM Canada Vibe website, I found that the "Sport Package" & "Spoiler Package" will be available in the spring of 2003.They also post the canadian price:Sport Package {inc: spoiler pkg, side rocker extensions, front & rear fascia extensions (REQ: B57 Monotone Exterior)}: 3160.00 $ canSpoiler Package {inc: 2- piece rear spoiler, roof & midgate}: 1185.00 $ canThese are factory installed. I don't know if they will be available as an upgrade to existing Vibe owners...

Deluxe AM/FM ETR/CD with 4 speakers)* Cruise control AND* Color-keyed front and rear underbody spoilers I've been looking at the Matrix spoilers, and the pictures of the Pontiac "Sport Package". The Pontiac side rocker extensions, and front & rear fascia extensions appear to be of the same type of product as what's added to the Matrix XRS. The only difference being the additional spoiler pkg. That quoted amount of $3160 CDN converts to about $2100 US.Anybody else here think the "General" has been drinking way too much?

I posted a similar post in another forum. I agree with you. Toyota has several sports packages now. The only one that costs more is the TRD package. I would like to see GM's reasoning as to why they think they can charge TRD type money for a 6 piece add on kit. They are a bunch of idiots!!!

And other posts show this to be compatable to other aftermarket kits for 7 pieces, and the cost of the Toyota parts aftersale.

TRD Kit is the TRD package that is being offered by the factory. I think the price is 4299, but that includes the 17" wheel upgrade and PIAA fog lamps, and leather interior.
