After 1 week and 300 miles on my new 2006 Vibe, the cladding is popping off the right rear passenger door. It popped off in the area by the right rear wheel. I tried to push it back in, but it doesn't want to stay in place. Is this a common problem? Should I tell the dealer to order new cladding for the door? Thanks for your help!
Take it back to the dealer and smack the salesmen in the face with the cladding. Nothing should be falling off of a Vibe after one week of being on the road. Hell, my '05 Vibe had two prior owners before I got it and one of those was a rental place. I'm sure you know the hell rental cars go through. Anyway I have around 33000 mi on my vibe and the only time anything comes off of my car is when I take it off!If I were you I would have them do a complete inspection of your new Vibe.

Thanks for your help! for 1 thing don't go ballistic on the dealer. the assembly process isn't what it used to be. instead of bolts and screws holding moldings on like the early years (1970's) LOL. GM uses plastic clips, one of the clips has broken or not retained itself in the sheet metal thats all. take it in to the dealer and while your there check and see if any others are loose. they will probably have to order new clips. you might want to stop at the toyota dealer before you stop at the pontiac dealer and ask them if they have any on hand, they might have one for a buck or 2.
Try like $5 per clip! Oh wait thats for the little plastic fasteners for like the splash guards. (Note for future need, go to a body shop to get them cheaper.)But it's under warrenty so it wont cost you anything. Had the same thing happen to me a couple weeks after taking my baby home.

the cladding can usually come off because the door might get caught on the curb or some grass. that happmed to my vibe almost a year ago. it's still there. lol
I popped my driver door cladding off at the gas station. ( orner of it anyway). I had to pop it out a little more to aline the clip ( plastic pus clip) then it popped right back in. It was also lined with two sided tape. Have had no prpblem with it and I am glad it popped rather than denting the door panel.
