Sometimes parts will make a ticking noise as they warm up or cool down. It's because they expand or contract, and if fastened down this movement causes them to shift incrementally against the resistance. If the noise doesn't go away after the car has warmed up, it may be a mechanical noise made by the fan hitting something as it spins. If you've parked under leafy trees you may have leaves or tree fallout in your vent system hitting the fan. It will need to be cleaned out.The last thing it could be is a poorly installed AC/Heat system with a fan actually not having proper clearance. The dealer should fix that.Hope that helps.KSNeptune

quote:Does anyone else experience the Ratte Vibes and Ticking when Ac or Defroster is on....its under the hood do believe? Noticed this on mine yesterday for the first time. The car was warm. I had driven to a shopping plaza and parked to run into a store. When I came out and started the car (about 15 minutes later) I heard this. With car in Park, it increased in speed as I depressed the accelerator. It also increased/decreased with the heat fan control (and stopped when the fan was turned off). It stopped in about a minute and I haven't heard it since. It was about 20 degrees (F) outside, windy and snowing. The noise came from under the hood and sure seems to be the Heat/AC Fan. If I hear it again, I'll be taking it to the Dealer.
