need help? no illuminated light for the shift knob indicator

I recently purcahsed a use VIBE (2003), Auto transmission. When I drive at night, I found there is no illuminated light for the shift knob indicator (you know, "P-R-D...". It's really hard to see which gear you are on. Other interior/Instrument Panel lights (radio, climate control) are all fine.Is this normal, or may be the fuse or light bulb blown off for the shift knob light?thanks alot for your help. really appreciate any input.
