maybe misfiring?

Post by joholste »

Ok so i put a fuel system cleaner in my car and ever since then it sounds almost as if my pistons aren't firing right. i really notice it when i'm running at about 65. is there something i'm missing. could something else have been thrown off. i mean i literally haven't had a problem until i did that....also is there some way that i can easily fix this??

try and finish the tank of gas you have in now. maybe the fuel system cleaner messed something up.honestly, i don't see this being the case. i usually add one when i change my oil. if that doesn't work, put your stock intake and it's time to pay your freindly GM dealer a visit.

did you add it to a full tank?i will put a bottle in just before i fill up my tank. that way the filling process does a good job mixing it.i would fill your tank again to dilute it further before panicing...
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!

If it was misfiring, the computer should detect it and turn on the check engine light. I'd wait a while and fill the tank with fresh gas, then see what it does.
