Last night one of the soldiers that lived down the hall from me was killed in a car accident.. it's not easy to lose a brother like that. he was a great kid and had just graduated from ranger school... last time i felt like this was when we lost my two buddies in Iraq

Wow. It's rough to lose anybody you know, especially those that are really good people. Car accidents are one of the worst. They'll take anyone anytime.Sorry to hear that. Keep it safe.

aww, i'm sorry. that's always a shock to lose someone in a car accident. some things you can prepare yourself for, but accidents like that just come out of nowhere. christmas time, i always think of my friend, Heidi who died my senior year in highschool from a car accident. It was a couple days before my 18th birthday and it hit me pretty hard. she was a really good friend.... i think i was out of school for the first week after that happened. i hope you handle it better than i did because it took me a few years to not be bitter and angry. keep your head up and remember to tell your friends and loved ones how much they mean to you.

I lost a good friend about 9 years ago to an MVA... he was just about to graduate from college, smartest guy I knew and had a promissing future ahead of him. Then poof - he's gone. the feeling of loss never goes away - but it does get better. His mom gave me some good advice at his funeral, remember the person he was, not the event that took him away. It still sucks though, I still miss him...
Sorry to hear this. Losing someone in an accident always feels like such a waste.Let's all be careful out there on the road.

it has come out that the reason my buddy died is he did not wear a seatbelt and was speeding when he got into the accident. He had two passengers from one of our brother battalions in my brigade. One had been in critical condition and has now passed on. the other was able to walk away without a scratch.... the driver was sober at the time of the accident. he was actually the designated driver for the other two people.

What a hard thing to go through. I have a friend in the military who wears bracelets with name rank etc. of all those who he lost in Iraq(eight total). It's a similar loss and pain when you lose someone here too. It's always unexpected and there is not much that helps besides time. I'm really sorry that you have to experience that.

I meant to ask if that was your buddy with the rock, not realizing that was in your sig. But, the thought in the head didn't translate to the fingers properly. Just more proof that the brain doesn't work well without rest. Wasn't trying to be funny or anything.Again, sorry about the loss of your buddy. I'm sure we can all relate in one way or another, but its always tough. No words can ever make anything like this better. Stay strong!!!
