After searching and debating, I finally decided to change HU only and just ordered JVC KD-G510 and Scosche FAI-3A to use Ipod w/aux input from cardomain.com. It will come w/ free harness and installation kit. Total I paid 160.84 +shipping. I thought it was good deal. All thanks goes to all members, especially cohocarl, ragingfish.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=19021 http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=769 http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=14516 - to ragingfish, one of your picture is missing. I finally got a package from cardomain.com yesterday and the installation was flawless. Thanks goes to many members but especially cohocarl for detail instructions. Now I am using Ipod and I couldn’t be happier. However I have one problem…I am keep hearing hiss…. Please, remember this is my first time changing hu and using line driver by myself. I have 05, M&T+single cd.I just want to share my experience and also want to hear some opinions from you guys. I know that sound quality is very subjective matter. I tried both w/ and w/o line driver. w/o line driver, It sounds more not only powerful but also clear for me. It is totally oppose to other people… At first time, I thought line driver does not work properly, but after reading instructions, I figured out I was able to adjust factory amp gain adjustment. I also tried to adjust line out gain adjustment, but it did not work. Is it normal or is my driver defect? I know I suppose to use factory amp gain adjustment only per manual but I just tried for fun. I played w/ and w/o line driver to decide whether to keep it or not. At first, after starting car I don’t hear any hiss or white noise, so it is not from engine, but I start to hear hiss after power goes to HU. Even I don’t play anything in HU I hear hiss. It is not major but it is there. w/ or w/o line driver I hear same amount of hiss. Is it normal??? I played w/ factory amp gain adjustment, but it did not affect to the hiss. Always same amount of hiss are there after powering HU. Only difference from using line driver is it make sound less in terms of volume, but same amount of hiss. Am I the only one having weird problem???? Am I still suppose to hear hiss w/ using live driver??? I thought one of reason to use line driver is to eliminate annoying hiss... Am I having ground problems???. I tried several different ground places but the result was same. Always same amount of hiss was there. Any body have same problem???Any input will be appreciated.PS. For me, aftermarket HU makes better sound then stock HU do. So it was worth to change HU and now I am able to use Ipod. but I am getting annoyed from hiss…. I guess I have to live w/ it.
