what are your thoughts on powder coating stock alloys?

Post by PHXLavaVibe »

I don't quite have the funds for a new set of rims yet, so I have been looking into other options for my wheels. I checked with a powder coating place here in Phx AZ. and they quoted me $50 per wheel for any color of my choice. Has anyone done this yet? Also has anyone looked into getting their stocks Chrome Plated?

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I've been thinking about doing this lately. My stock wheels are starting to corrode and bubble up. I can get them sandblasted for free, and was thinking of powdercoating them. Need some ideas and photoshop help. I don't have a good photo of my car (sorry!), but if anyone could do up an 03/04 silver vibe w/ dark grey cladding in white, black, dark grey (or any other colors that you feel like) I would appreciate it. Here's a pic from an old thread for inspiration (not my car), and if anyone else has photos of powdercoated stock wheels please feel free to chime in!also thinking of having my crossbars done, possibly the windshield wipers (one of them took a hit during my recent storm mishap), and maybe some of the random, rusted AC brackets in my engine bay. Anyone else gone powder coat crazy on their vibes yet? (i searched, didn't come up with much).
