If it was cheap enough..maybe. But I don't know if it's really worth it. Saw one on a Grand Prix (or Bonneville, I forget) that was similar concept..looked too annoying for my taste. That, and the angle is a pain to get right so you can always see it.

I think that's a pretty sweet find! I do have to wonder just how well it works, though. I know Kenwood used to make one, but it was for their HU's, and I don't recall if they took useful readings like speed/rpm.I can say from driving Grand Prixs that the HUD is very nice. But they're tricky. I don't know how well an aftermarket unit would work, but for $100, it might be worth a weekend project
Where the heck did you get a cat large enough to drive let alone advanced enough to have an HUD?Quote, originally posted by BOZACK »I never really liked them. Always distracted me when ever I drove a cat with it.Sorry, could not resit.
It certainly has a WOW factor but not something for me for a couple of reasons. The first is that the unit is exposed on the dashboard which looks a bit silly and causes extra reflection. Some states have laws about what is on the dashboard because of the reduction in visibility caused by the internal reflections. This unit does not appear to use projected focus. In a good HUD system like those used in military aircraft the HUD is set so that it is in focus when your eyes are distance focused not near focused. It allows you to be watching where you are going without having to re-focus your eyes to a close up object and then back out again.I think it's cool, but in the long run not tremendously useful. At least not in this particular product.Get a system that is projected from a small lens mounted into the dashboard and focuses to an ocular focus distance outside of the car and that would be really nice. And rather than using that sticky reflective stuff on the windshield if it worked with a bit of spray on silvering or something so it is less obvious when not in use it would be perfect. But do not let this disuade you. I still think it is a cool thing and if it was cheap I might have one just for the WOW! factor.Quote, originally posted by mcgusto82 »http://www.defi-shop.com/produ....htmli found this at MO site. what do you guys think. it's around 200$.

(inside the dash)
Actually I wish my Vibe had it. I have it on my GP GTP and love it. Requires a special coating on the windshield though. I know cause my windshield on the GP is cracked and it costs a whole lot more to replace than a standard windshield. As far as adjustment, they are easy to make. All I can say I really like the HUD.If its available on a car from the factory I'll make sure its included in my next purchase
I think it would be neet to display air/fuel ratio and boost and other 'performance' monitoring guages. Or maybe a larger video display for dvd's and games (when parked, of course. ).
