on the news they said he wasn't a drinker. they think he may have been confused by some road signs. the toxicology (sp?) report is coming out today.

Can we say drunk driving. The majoity of wrong way accidents are alchohol related. A nurse once told me that more police officers get into dwi accidents but they get covered up. Not saying that is the case here, but lok at the stats. Of course it could be some other medical reason.

defenately looks suspicious. i want to know if he had a seatbelt on. it would show how comparable this collion is. the pick up guy has minor injuries. the accident couldn't had been that bad.

2 cars head on, both doing over 60mph = one doing 120 and hitting something solid. Would you expect to walk away?

If the vehicles are different mass, the advantage goes to the heavier one.

I know a guy who drove the wrong way for several miles before getting pulled over, he was drunk. I would say to drive the wrong way you would be under the infuence of something.

If the vehicles are different mass, the advantage goes to the heavier one. I tried to explain this once to a teacher in traffic school(ticket) about 10 yrs ago and he just didn't get it. His point was you'd be better off hitting a tree dead on than another car. I'd aim away from another individual and take my chances anyway but his physics could use some learnin'.

Usually accidents don't provide adedquate time to choose, but perhaps if you could choose the tree at least then it would only be a one car accident

not rtying to sound selfish, but a tree is NOT going to move an provide cushiom like anotehr car would. ofcourse natural reaction would be to avoid another car. from all the accident photos i've seen, hitting a tree is the worse thing to hit. a tree will split your car in half.the picture o that vibe shows how well the cabin held. the car is obviously totalled but the cabin looks well. i don't think he had a seatbelt on. If the vehicles are different mass, the advantage goes to the heavier one. Took me a few minutes to understand the logic of that. It is contrary to what most people think and/or are told. Thanks for the insight.
