Any Americans Working in Canada?

I was wondering if we have any American members living and working in Canada? If so, I would be interested in learning what all you had to go through to work there and maintain your citizenship. I know how the laws between Germany and the US work from personal experience, but I don't know what the laws between Canada and the US are. On the flip, if there any Canadians who live and work in the US, what did you have to do?I am only really interested in those who have maintained their citizenship of their country while working and living in the other country. However, any insights from anyone would be greatly appreciated.Thanks much!!!

for canadians working in the US (and i'm pretty sure it's reciprocal) there is a visa called "TN - Treaty of North America I-94" work visa.Essentially it was $56/year and required a letter from a sponsoring employer in the USA. It was only available to Canadians (maybe Mexicans) as part of (obviously) the Treaty of North America.Every year i had to come back to Canada and 're-enter' the US to renew the Visa. I believe one of the major conditions was that you had to have a University/College degree and the job function at your work in the US had to apply to that degree (there was an issue once on wording where my degree and the letter from the employer didn't perfectly match).I also had this visa while living in Canada but travelling to the US for work on a frequent basis.Once i was living in the US for a year, the company applied for my H1B visa. This was popular during the silicon valley days for programmers, etc. and at the time 150,000 were granted every year. That number has gone down since i believe. The H1B is good for 3 years as it's real intent was to give somebody the right to live and work in the USA while applying for their Green Card. I ended up coming back to Canada before that whole process came to fruition as the company i worked for filed for bankruptcy and i didn't want to be 'stuck' in the US with no visa or job.I believe there are similar visas here in Canada (i can ask a friend of mine from Australia what he had to do...but i think as an American citizen you will have opportunities for specific visas as per the TN I-94 stated above).http://canadainternational.gc.....aspxshould find all your answers here! let me know if you have any further questions!
