After going to the body shop and removing cat scratches from the back hatch and dog scratches on the drivers door, within 6 days I have more scratches on the hood and fascia from where some cat apparently tried to get up on my freshly waxed hood, started to slip, and sliced into my new clear bra I just installed and put two big gouges in the fascia part, (the flat little ledge part right below the edge of the hood). I need to buy a pellet gun!. Anyone know of some good plastic repair kits?? Or should I just take it to the body shop. I'm pretty sure I cant repair the clear bra. Its getting frustrating. This is the 3rd clear bra piece installed on my hood because my installer messed up the first 2 times. This last one has only been on for 2 weeks!. I guess I'm loosing faith in the clear bra material if cat claws can slice right through it. I dont know if the paint is damaged underneath on the hood section. 1 scratch looks like there may be white residue underneath. I tried to smooth them back down with my finger but you can still see them. Theres about 4 places he sliced into along with some scuffs. This cat must have weighed 50 pounds or something. I'll try to post a pic tonight.
I use 3M Products... If you can feel the scratch with your finger nail it is too deep to rub out unfortunately. If you can just see it I use 3M Imperial Hand Glaze. I also use 3M fine rubbing compound, than the 3M glaze. You can also try wet sanding but unless you have done this do not try to do it.
