Yep, my sister-in-laws boyfriend started working at a company where he drives this huge-@$$ truck around and picks up dirty laundry (uniforms). I saw him outside my house yesterday evening dropping her off and later noticed that my alarm receiver was beeping that the alarm had gone off. I went outside and looked around and didn't see anything and the alarm wasn't going off when I went out so I didn't think anything of it, just another guy with a loud system or something probably. This afternoon I went out to use it and noticed the front bumper towards the street was scraped up pretty good with the black rubbery residue and some scrapes in the clearcoat. I was pissed, my mother-in-laws car was parked in front of mine but it didn't have any damage so I knew it wasn't her. I figured during the night someone else tried to park in front of me and scraped my car as they tried to pass. Later I said something about it as he had just gotten there after I noticed it and he told me he thought he might have done it with his truck. He told me that if I had to pay to get it fixed he would do everything he could to help me out, but it looks like everything will come off and polish up okay. Fortunately he barely scraped alongside of it and didn't do any damage. I don't want to report it to my insurance b/c they already raised my prices just b/c of where I live. Here's a pic shortly after I found it. I had already wiped it a little with my fingers to see if it would come off.

buff it out over this fine weekend. doesn't look like the truck is that big after all. it's a pretty low hit.you can always spray some clear coat when done buffing it too. it'll be back to normal.
Glad to hear it wasn't serious!Don't you just hate when people don't pay attention?

Thanks guys. Yeah, it just made me mad that it happened. You try to do everything you can to keep your car nice and someone else who isn't paying attention or just doesn't care screws it up! It wouldn't be so bad if I was at fault, but when someone else does it and doesn't even say anything until you bring it up, that is $h!tty.

Welcome to the "My Vibe Got Hit Club" Jason! LOL Yeah it sucks to get hit, glad to see it isn't major. I'm sure you saw my post last week about mine getting rear-ended for the 4th time. I'm taking my Vibe to the shop again tomorrow. I'm pretty popular at my shop.

My Vibe is the first brand-new vehicle I've purchased after 30yrs of driving, bought it in April. It's been to the body shop twice since. It's like the car is invisible in the parking lots. At least I caught the first guy who backed into it, smashed in the bottom hinge to the drivers door, bent the pillar, took out the fender and door.... His car didn't even have a scratch and he didn't even notice hitting mine, luckily I was there when it happened. A week after it was out of the body shop, came out of the store to find the rear hatch smashed in with tire marks all over it, no one around...So much for buying a brand new vehicle, nothing like this ever happening before....Even worse, the front bumper already looking like a 20 year old piece of junk, all chipped up. I'm really pissed off about that! And GM isn't doing anything about it.
