double din mounting

i'm ordering 'avic - d1' or a "avn 5435". this are both double din radios.since i still have the stock radio sitting inside a closet. i want to try to use the metal mounting brackets. since the stock radio is a double din. would this work?better yet, if you guys have either of these radios, if you could. post a picture of the sides.
