I have an 2004 Vibe GT. Since I've owned it, it has made a strange clunk in the right front suspension when I drove out of a specific driveway. I didn't think much of it because it was only one place. Now, it makes that noise all the time. It is usually apparent at low speed, while going downhill or when going through dips.My Mom's G35 made a similar noise with similar conditions. Only the noise came from the back of the car since it's rear wheel drive. The dealership said it was the sway bar bushings.Could something simialr be wrong with my car?
My first instinct is a loose bolt on the front right strut assembly. Or possibly the foam that is between the top of the strut and the body may have become dislodged allowing the strut to bang directly against the steel of the body.Just a thought...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Check that strut nut, as well as the three holding the strut to the support. I had the same noise in my car, I put a wrench on the nut at the top of the strut after popping off the cap. It turned slightly but the noise went away after that.
