Had my oil changed this afternoon and the guy that runs the shop asks me to come over to the car. I'm sweatin' thinking they either found a problem or he's going to show me this scratch or something. Instead, he has me look down into the front portion of the engine and shows me a wire that had come unplugged from the engine. The wire is very close to the oil filter and has a gray plug on the end. He tells me that he wasn't sure if I wanted it plugged in or leave it off. Being the smart guy that I am, I asked him to plug it back in where it's supposed to go.My question is, does anyone know what this plug is for? I haven't noticed any problems with the Vibe since the last oil change and the temperature gauge had worked fine prior to (and after) this plug had been discovered being unplugged.I'm mainly curious what it's for more than anything else... anyone?2005 VibeAWDMoon & Tunes8,300+ miles
this thing?if so, that is the connection for the oil pressure sender, the thing that drives the oil pressure warning light. You would want that hooked up. Won't cause a problem if left disconnected, but if you have an oil pressure problem, then you'd want to know.
I believe that's it... thanks for the information. The guy who changed the oil tells me that he assumes they didn't unplug it at the last visit, and I can't say for certain they did, but I figured it needed to be hooked back up rather than flappin' in the breeze.Appreciate your help!Jim
