Anyone know what OTHER GM radio will fir the Vibe without hassle. was thinking of getting a GM MP3 player to replace the stock radio and want it to be hassle free...just plug in and done.
Well the Vibe takes the standard 1-6disc ACDELCO radio you can find in montana vans, pickups, and possibly grandams. Now the new vehicles with the dash and radio molded together won't. But any 2002-04 radio should bolt in. Just check the measurements. Now wiring harness and what not, thats the real question.

I have been told (by a GM radio shop that supplies dealers) that no other GM radio can be used in a Vibe. The reason for this is that normal GM radios communicate with the car processor module over the GM Class-II bus. Since the Vibe's guts are Toyota, the Vibe stock radio is unique in that it doesn't talk to the car at all.The plus side is, you can put in any aftermarket without the hassle of relocating the stock radio or getting a Class-II box to replace it.Downside is, other GM radios won't work in the Vibe; they expect to talk to the CPU.2006 Vibes have stock MP3 capability, so you could check around for any takeouts of those....

UNLESS it's an anti theft radio.the new grand am uses the same radio as the vibe. The vibe's radio isn't a toyota part. if it had been a toyota, it would've been anti theft.since it's got a toyota cpu. denso, that's who makes their radio and cpu.

YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

It's a Delphi radio but has different firmware from other GM radios that does not attempt to connect to the vehicle CPU.-EDITED- I'm inclined to trust the info I got, but I guess we won't know for sure until someone tries it.
