surface corrosion

Post by scherry2 »

opend up my drivers door and on the rear window frame inside was RUST a spot about the size of a dime maybe bigger. well my blower motor seemed to be out of balance because when i put in on high the whole dash vibrates, so of to the dealer i went.the rust according to dealer is "surface corrosion" and they said no problem to fix. the blower motor is going to be replaced. the service rep was checking out the vibe and looked under the hood and even noticed the hood pad was missing a couple of retainers and the engine cover was missing a retainer so they ordered those too. so no vibe for a couple of days.

They didn't give you a replacement vehicle to drive around until you get the Vibe back?

My friend had to get his Vibe's blower motor replaced for the same reason... I believe it ended up with all kinds of leaves and crap down in it. Yikes, it's always a pleasure to find rust, isn't it? Did you get any pics of that rust spot? Around/under any weatherstripping? I'm interested to see exactly where it is at. Heck, mine is probably rusted too. What are they going to do to fix it? Glad they're getting you taken care of though.

Well, the one consolation out of all of this is the fact that he has a "great service advisor" that found other things that he didn't even know about.I wish thay were all that observant and reliable.

I never thought about pic's stupid me....I'll take a pic of the after with a spot where the rust was. it wasn't near any weatherstrip about 4 inches down the rear window frame from the top rear corner on the inside.
