Paint on Door Guards.

I don't know if anyone else has this problem but the paint on the door guard that protects the main doors from inconsiderate people has got to be defective. I was washing my car yesterday and while spraying the dead bug guts of the trim i noticed the paint was pealing right off the the guard in a big chunk. The chips on the rest of the car are chips but the trim peices on the doors seems to peel back. I've used touch up paint to cover the chunk of paint missing but does anyone else have this problem? And does GM warranty cover this?
