Well today was a sad day. My lease was up on my Vibe so I turned her in .She was a good ol' gal and I loved her. You'all will see me lurking around from time to time cause I'm not ready to tell you'all good-bye yet. You are a fantastic bunch of people. James (Vibe)
hi, james! haven't seen you around lately. but i'm sure you've just had your time placed elsewhere. glad you'll be sticking around even though vibe-less, just as i have. what did you end up replacing her with?
I'm going to replace her with a Pontiac Soltisce - but since the dealers are having a hard time getting them in - I bought a Dodge Caravan from a neighbor just to get me by until next summer when the dealers will be full of the Soltisces. James

JamesI am jealous because I really love the Solstice!! , If you have to wait till next summer, you might want to get the gxp model, or whatever it is, because it is suppose to have a turbocharger in it!!!!!

oh man, after only having my Vibe a couple of days, I cant imagine having to turn it back in after a few years! I straight out bought mine yay! I get to keep her forever ^-^ lol. My vibe has a real attitude, so we named her Callisto.
Great Name ! When I first got my Vibe I felt the same way --------but time marchs on. 3 years -Well I guess it is time to refresh.(Next Summer) As I left the dealership I looked back at my Vibe and said " Good Luck in the Future my Gal" Very sad to leave her. We had 3 really good years together ! James

Shame a lease could not be extended. I have never leased a vehicle, but isn't it true that you can purchase the car after the lease ends?
That which may be known of God is evident within man, for God has shown it to them, so that they are without excuse.(Romans 1:19-20) What do you want most in life?

You can, but in the end you pay more for the vehicle when you add up the total of payments you've made, plus the end-of-lease purchase price, and any interest you may incur for financing the purchase price. We had an awesome GM Employee lease deal on a GMC Sonoma for about $160/month, and even with the low payment, when you multiplied that by 36 and added it to the purchase price at the end of the lease, not even counting any potential interest on the financing, the cost came out to almost exactly the window sticker price, not even the GM Employee price.Still, though, there would be times when it would be beneficial to lease with the intent to buy, like if you really need a new car with a warranty but can't afford payments on actually buying it but can afford the lease payments, and will be in better shape in 3-4 years to finance the end-of-lease cost. If you have that intent, then it doesn't even matter if you stay in the mileage...if you buy the car at the end of the lease, the mileage penalty is gone, I believe.Or, if your driving allows you to stay in the mileage and trade it in for a new car every three years, that's pretty sweet too.
That was my plan originally, to have the car for the 48month/80,000km lease, and turn it in for a new one, since I usually drive about 800-1,000km a month. However, in the last six weeks I've put 4,000km on.hmmm. I may be buying this car at lease end, since I like it so much.

But the Vibe (either Sputnik or a new one) is my first choice next summer.
