Front tire wear!

Post by ShadowRuleZ »

So this is my first FWD car that we've put a few miles on. About to rotate the tires here, and the front (still on factory alignment) are more worn on the outside than the inside. Anyone else see anything like this? The rears are fine.

mine did the same thing. the rsa's are crap and wear easy under heavy driving. i haul alot of stuff and have been doing alot of moving and stuff. i noticed when i dropped my car that the tires were worn more than they should be for factory stuff on 10000 miles.

Other than that - you're on your own.I don't expect these tires will last 20k.

Get everything documented with the dealer, there is a decent chance of getting a new set of tires if you identify the problem and keep complaining to the dealer and factory. My OEM Continentals were gone by 13k miles, mine had a bad camber problem that the dealer did not fix correctly the first try. At 44k I am on my 3rd set of tires. Good luck.

These are stock RSAs. The wife drives the car, so it's not fast cornering. And we have done a bit of moving, but that was 15k miles ago. It hasn't been loaded up since then.If I get a chance, I'll see if I can stop into the dealer about it.

Are you running proper tire pressures?
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

improper tire pressure will only cause the following wear patters... worn out tires on inside and outside tread caused by low on pressure. Or worn out in in the middle tread by to much pressure in the tires.Wear on outside only or inside only can usually be alignment issues or driving habits... at least by my experiences in the shop.
