I have been having a bit of trouble lately with my 2004 Cluster. It is a long story, but I had to get it replaced. I have had 4 installed so far because each time the dealership orders me one, it is for the wrong year or model Vibe. They claim that they cannot find the part number for a 2004 Vibe GT cluster. So, i was wondering if any of you knew how to find one or if you happen to have a spare one around that you can look on for some kind of part number. Thanks
That's just nuts! I believe we'll be able to get you some help. Do you have any part numbers that they have given you on any paperwork thus far?To my knowledge, there are a total of 12 different clusters, but only one type would apply to your particular vehicle. I'm not sure why they are having such problems!Red face[1] 2003 US base, AWD[2] 2003 US GT[3] 2003 Canada base, AWD[4] 2003 Canada GTWhite face[5] 2004 US base, AWD[6] 2004 US GT[7] 2004 Canada base, AWD[8] 2004 Canada GTSame as 2k04 plus inicators for stabilitrak and tire pressure warning[9] 2005 US base, AWD[10] 2005 US GT[11] 2005 Canada base, AWD[12] 2005 Canada GTThere may be more, I dunno... So despite only one being for your car I guess they've got a good number to choose from until they getthe right one. And out of curiosity, what are the issue with the cluster? At any rate, welcome aboard.

Wow, i forgot all about the Canada vehicles. I guess there is a lot of different possibilities for them to choose from. See, it is kind of my fault. I had a friend, who supposedly took a lot of electrical classes and was going to go in to installing aftermarket electronics, but never did. Anyways, I was stupid and let him install a TV and DVD player in the Vibe. I guess he wasn't as good as he thought he was and burned out part of the cluster so that the reverse beep and passenger seatbelt warning light were not functioning. I brought it back to the dealership to get a new cluster and they had no problem ordering me a new one. But I got one for a 2004 Base vibe. Brought it back and after finally convincing them that it was the wrong cluster, I got a 2003 GT cluster. Then I sent that back and got a 2005 GT cluster (what i have right in it right now). That is the worst one by far because the fuel gage doesn't work, and it also does some other funky things because of the options included in the 05 that the 04 doesn't have. I got a call from the dealership saying that they are going to have their electronics people rebuild/rewire this 05 one and try to make it function properly. So, If i can somehow get the part number, maybe i can actually ge the correct part instead of having a home-made cluster. Thanks for all your help guys.
Stupid question.Did you check all the under-dash fuses? I know that one of them (AM2) i think, if burned out, kills the beeper, but makes the cluster look normal otherwise. Honestly, though, sounds liek a fuse. Crawl under that dash and pull every one, I have a good feeling you might find one blown.I'm pretty sure it's hard to fry the cluster...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
and if the dealer is going through all of this trouble for a blown fuse then you either need to find a smarter dealer or one that isn't trying to rip you off with un-needed repair costs. I sure hope somebody checked the fuses. If you put a base cluster in there, the redline area on the base's tach is pretty much the lift range on the GT.
Yeah, i had the base cluster in there and because the tach and speedometer read different numbers, i knew it was wrong. Also, I checked the fuses and they were fine. When I finally got the '05 Cluster, the reverse beep did work correctly, so I am sure it was the cluster that got fried in the first place. Sadly, I don't have any of the old clusters (they got sent back) so I can't even have my old fried cluster rebuilt. Now you see my dilemma and the need for a part number.
and this isn't under warranty?sounds more like a parts department goof up... service doesn't order parts, parts does and service has to cover for them. Either way an 04 cluster for a GT can't be to hard to get... or is it...

One would think that service would supply the parts dept. a VIN, and that's that... But I've had issues with them getting the incorrect parts before as well, so there's no telling...
