So I'm thinking I really need to replace this thing, don't really want to do the furnace filter thing - would prefer a proper fit with proper support.Has anyone found a source in Canada for these things that's not asking for body parts in exchange?

Here in Ottawa you can get one at Part Source for a somewhat cheap price. Mr. Lube also sells them at near cost as part of an oil change (just walk up). I'm from London and you could check out Napa on Exeter, Oxford or Hamilton. But I doubt they will be cheap.I'm not a CT fan.CheersAndrew
I get mine mail-order from the guys below. They are actually a Canadian company, and sell the filters for about $12-$13 Canadian. (About $10 US). Might see if they're anywhere near you and save the shipping.http://www.cabinairfilters.net/PS- The Vibe filter is P# 9924TC at the site. Don't get a Matrix filter; it won't fit.

You see when a filter is completely useless when you have pratically no ligth coming through it...Like you do with an engine filter.Material used to produce these filters are similar to the one I have in my handy vaccum cleaner made by Black & Decker. I never bought replacement filter for it since the last seven years..! Filter never degrade enough to render vaccum cleaner. So, equivalent practice could be used to maintain your cabin's air-filter in good shape. As someone says, use any diluted soft soap in a large amount of water and clean it. Leave it to dry completely and spray some aftermarket air refreshner on it.And also, if you feel your ventilation system is becoming struggled, keep an eye on your filter. It could be the first source of your problem... like the TV set plug not
